The presentation, titled Understanding the Realities of Clinical Trials in India: More Than Patient Pools and Cost Savings was sponsored by RxTrials Institute and provided listeners with information critical to companies interested in entering and operating in India. Topics included background and historical information, an overview of regulatory guidelines and recent changes, a inside look at the operating environment and information about selecting good outsourcing partners."

ACRP 2008 Global Conference & Exhibition

Excel Life Sciences exhibited at the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) 32nd Annual Meeting in Boston, MA on April 25-29. This global conference brought together nearly 3,000 clinical research professionals from sponsors, CROs, investigative sites and service providers.

ELS, in partnership with Israel Life Sciences Industry (ILSI), explores synergies between Israel's prodigious science capacities and India's burgeoning clinical research resources. Israeli biotechnology start-up companies may start seeking broader patient pools and faster clinical results by extending placement of clinical trials. India has become a "top five" global clinical research destination preferred by leading biotechnology companies all over the world due to factors including patient recruitment, cost-effective operations, government polices and the availability of highly qualified professionals.

ELS organized the event in partnership with the Israeli Life Sciences Industry (ILSI) and PFC Pharma Focus Israel. The Indian ambassador to Israel also presented at this event.

Outsourcing Landscape in India and Alliance Opportunities
DIA, ICRI, and BCI 2nd Annual Conference on Drug Discovery and Clinical Development in India

Dan McDonald, VP of Business Strategy for Excel Life Sciences presented at the DIA, ICRI, and BCI 2nd Annual Conference on Drug Discovery and Clinical Development in India, which took place at the Renaissance Hotel in Mumbai. The presentation titled “Outsourcing Landscape in India and Alliance Opportunities: Understanding Clinical Research Market Dynamics in India and Considerations for Successful Contract Research Partnerships” was attended by roughly 300 people and focused on the complex operating environment in India and criteria that sponsor companies should look for in a contract research partner when entering India for the first time. The presentation also stressed the importance of focusing on quality, ethics and performance over cost as a reason for entering the market.

Clinical Research - Challenges to Professionalism, Integrity and Trust
ICRI’s Changing World of Clinical Research in India Conference

Dr. Vijai Kumar, President and CMO of Excel Life Sciences presented at the ICRI conference entitled Changing World of Clinical Research in India, which took place on April 14th, 2007 at the National Institute of Advance Studies, IISC Auditorium in Bangalore, India. Dr. Kumar chaired and presented the first session which focused on current challenges with clinical research around the world. The session was held in the main auditorium and was attended by several hundred delegates.
