Study Feasibility

As part of our customized approach to determine the optimal solution for your study, we begin with a detailed market intelligence and study feasibility process. This process has been designed by ELS to make sure that the research sites, facilities, investigators, geographic region, patient demographics and competitive landscape mix is appropriate and it makes sense to move forward with the project.

ELS has developed in-depth proprietary databases of epidemiology data and employs a team of medical professionals and research personnel on staff to collect this information on an ongoing basis and for specific projects. In addition, ELS has developed a sophisticated database made up of hundreds of research sites within our network, with each site profile including over 150 key data points. Combined, these databases create a wealth of information which can be used as the basis for determining the feasibility of a study in India. We compliment these tools with our experience and an aggressive due diligence process including site visits and interviews to eliminate as much risk as possible from each program.

Sample market intelligence and study feasibility data points include:

  • National incidence data - current and growth rates
  • Morbidity rates
  • Regional incidence data, growth rates and comparisons
  • Incidence comparisons to other regions of the world,
  • Number of physicians nationally and locally treating a specific condition
  • National and regional health association, support and advocacy groups for a condition
  • Standard of care information for a condition
  • Number of clinical trials taking place nationally (aggregate, condition-specific and regional)

Sample investigative site feasibility analysis data points include:

  • Patient load per month
  • Standard of care treatment
  • Types of medical equipment at each site
  • Sites experience conducting clinical trials
  • Profile of competing clinical trials at site
  • EDC capabilities
  • IRB Details including meeting times, frequency, makeup
