Wayne  L
 Pines
President, Alliance for a Stronger FDA
Wayne Pines is an internationally-known consultant on regulatory issues, advertising and promotion, media strategies and crisis management involving biological products, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He is President of Regulatory Services and Healthcare at APCO Worldwide in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Pines formerly was Associate Commissioner for Public Affairs at the FDA, where he served for seven years as chief spokesperson. He also has been Executive Vice President of Burson-Marsteller, Chairman of a market research firm, and a columnist for WebMD and Medical Advertising News.

Mr. Pines is author or editor of several books about FDA regulatory processes, crisis management or FDA itself. He wrote the FDA Advertising and Promotion Manual. He co-authored A Framework for Pharmaceutical Risk Management and Making Your Case to the FDA. He edited When Lightning Strikes and A Delicate Balance, both crisis management books, and recently published Communicating in a Healthcare Crisis. He also edited A Practical Guide to Food and Drug Law and Regulation, How to Work with the FDA, and FDA: A Century of Consumer Protection, published in April 2006.

He is a frequent public speaker and has published dozens of articles in the professional press. He has chaired meetings for professional organizations such as the Drug Information Association and the Food and Drug Law Institute on advertising issues, risk management, crisis management, and FDA processes.

Mr. Pines is on the boards of Scolr Pharma, The Patient Channel, and the FDA Alumni Association, and is chairman of the board of the Medstar Research Institute. In February 2007 he was elected president of the FDA Alliance, a coalition seeking to educate the Congress and Administration about the need for more appropriated funds for FDA. In 2004 he was named Alumnus of the Year by the FDA.
 
Dr.  Narendra
 Kini,  M.D.
President and CEO, Miami Children's Hospital
Dr. Kini joined Miami Children's Hospital in January 2008 from Trinity Health in Novi, Michigan. Dr. Kini has a deep understanding of cultural transformation in hospitals and IT's role in shaping the next generation of health care. While with GE Health Leadership Institute, Dr. Kini headed the company's efforts in the implementation of advanced health care technologies. He has also trained in Six Sigma and has served as General Manager of Enterprise Marketing for GE Medical Systems Information Technologies. A practicing physician for more than 12 years, Dr. Kini served in the ER at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and served as Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

He earned his medical degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and completed his pediatrics residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He earned a master's degree in health administration (MSHA) from the University of Alabama in 1988. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine, and he is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
 
Raghu Krishnaiah

Raghu Krishnaiah has extensive expertise in rapidly growing global service-based businesses. He is currently an Operating Executive with a multi-billion dollar global private investment group, where he is involved in helping portfolio companies leverage technology and India's talent pool to deliver high-value knowledge services to the US market. Beforehand, Raghu held senior executive positions at large public corporations where he led growth and operational excellence efforts, successfully co-founded and sold an offshore services company that had several Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 clients, and was a senior manager at a well-known management consulting firm where he helped Fortune 50 companies dramatically improve their profitability. Raghu holds an MBA from The Wharton School, and both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from M.I.T.
 
Mohit
 Mehrotra  
Founder and Chief Operating Officer
Mohit was most recently the General Manager, New Product and Platforms for American Express where he led a global servicing team based out of the US, Canada and India. Previously, he was the Co-Founder and Interim Chief Executive Officer of Workadia. Before Workadia, Mohit had been at American Express for over 10 years, most recently as Vice President in its Interactive Business Development group, where he was the founding member and business leader for Workadia, which was spun off from within American Express. He played a key role in transforming the corporate travel industry from a manual labor-intensive operation to an online, highly automated and efficient environment.

His experience in leveraging technology and labor arbitrage to reduce operating costs and accelerate product development led him to found Excel Life Sciences, which helps customers accelerate drug development and improves patient care and satisfaction, while lowering costs for pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and medical research organizations. In addition, Mohit also wants to focus on the humanitarian aspect of bringing leading lines of treatment to a patient population that does not necessarily have access to healthcare. This humanitarian aspect is an integral part of the Excel Life Sciences mission. Mohit holds a Bachelor's degree in Business from University of Allahabad, India and a Master of Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

 Kirit Kumar  Patel,
 M.D., FACC
Kirit Kumar Patel MD, FACC is the Medical Director and Chief of Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology / Cardiac Catherization Lab at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland and Director of Interventional Cardiology at Huron Valley Sinai Hospital. Dr. Patel is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology. He performs over 1500 cases per year in coronary and peripheral diagnostic procedures including many interventional procedures. His clinical interests include Coronary Artery Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease and Stroke.

Dr. Patel oversees the Clinical Research Department at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland and has participated as an Investigator in over 35 multi-center trials to evaluate new therapies in patients with Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Atrial Fibrillation, Hyperlipidemia, Diabetes, Stroke, Deep Venous Thrombosis, and Pulmonary Embolus. He has co-authored more than 25 medical journal articles and abstracts including articles in Circulation, American Journal of Cardiology and Journal of Interventional Cardiology.

Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the Kastuba Medical College in Karnataka India and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Rhode Island Hospital. In addition, Dr. Patel completed his clinical fellowship in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the St. Joseph Mercy-Oakland in Pontiac, MI. Dr. Patel is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
